I’ve been a fan of Avon’s Glimmershadow since the debut a few years ago. I started with the jade shade but that doesn’t seem to be available anymore. It’s very close to the diamond dust shade but the diamond dust shade obviously lacks the slight green tint the jade.
I am also using the Pink Topaz shade of the Glimmershadow which I also love and looks good on both hazel/green eyes and my daughter’s lovely sky/blue eyes.
This eye shadow has a cream shadow feel and is water-resistant with a buildable and blendable coverage. I love that this shadow doesn’t crease like other cream type shadows I’ve had in the past.
These are my pool party and beach makeup staples. I don’t wear much makeup regularly but there are times where I want to both look good in photos and not have my makeup melt off due to water, rain, sweat, or happy tears.
If you want to see me being a nerd with my family, and using the underwater camera as I test my eye makeup, well here you go…
I’m sure I’ve written about the glimmershadow and the Love at 1st Lash mascara before and I’m sure I will again. It’s my favorite for a reason! Since it’s over half off right now it’s a good time to shout out it’s merits while you can try it out for less.
The waterproof version of the Love at 1st Lash mascara definitely outlasts the glimmershadow if you are swimming but the eyeshadow still holds it’s own against the water. I wore them in pool to see if I would end up getting Uncle Fester type dark circles or makeup smearing and I am always amazed at how this eye makeup stays in place.
That being said one of the most popular complaints of these products is they are hard to wash off. If you decide to purchase these make sure you have a good eye makeup remover. The glimmershadow does come off with regular face wash or soap but the waterproof Love at 1st Lash will not.
Make sure to have a good eye makeup remover before using the mascara so you aren’t pulling out your lashes trying to remove it. It’s made to outlast and so it does!
